Here is a document with some sample questions that we have been (and will be) working on leading up to a quiz on Volume and Capacity on Wednesday, March 2. All students should be able to access it with their ocdsb account.

This week
Hello all,
This week we will be continuing our measurement unit by looking at the Volume and Capacity of rectangular and triangular prisms (ie. V = length x width x height or V= area of base x h).
We have been working on, and will be finishing this week, a synthesizing activity using the book 'The Rabbits' by Shaun Tan. Using different texts and videos, students have been putting the information together to come up with opinions and ideas surrounding the meaning of the book.
Tomorrow will be our first ski date of the year. Reminder that we will be meeting in the school parking lot at 7:05. The weather is looking promising but please be sure to dress appropriately.
Thanks!

Skiing - Thursday, February 4th
A reminder of our ski trip this coming Thursday. Fingers crossed for the weather!
Math and English
Hello all,
We have recently wrapped up with finding areas of parallelograms and triangles in our measurement unit. The next part of this unit will involve finding the surface area of prisms (finding the area of individual faces and adding them together for the total) as well as measuring capacity.
In English, students have been using Google slides to create their own Choose Your Own Adventure Story based on an illustration from the book The Mysteries of Harris Burdick by Chris Van Allsburg. Feel free to ask them to show you at home what they have created. They all have access through Google.
